The Old Windmill, Aylsham, Norfolk NRll 6NB. Halfway between Norwich and the coast at Cromer.
Built in 1826 it was a working flour mill for almost 100 years. The Mill was then derelict for more than 80 years, and has now been converted into luxurious self catering accommodation for 6 people. The accommodation is on 4 floors linked by normal domestic stairs. Aylsham is ideally placed in the centre of North Norfolk. Explore the coast, the Broads and the city of Norwich.
We have recently stayed for a week in this beautiful windmill with our grown up children, it had everything you would need for a real chill out week, all 6 of us love to cook and we never once struggled for equipment. As we don't manage to all get together very often, I had done some research on what there is to do in the local area but we didn't do any of it as the weather was very kind and we were just sitting around chatting and playing board games (or completing a tricky jigsaw - which became a bit of a marathon). The beds were all very comfy and everything was very nice and clean.
