From the first minute you arrive to the last minute when you have to leave this is just perfect. Neil and Jill are wonderful hosts along with their dog Milo who is just as welcoming. Nothing is left to chance everything is absolutely amazing. We stayed for 11 nights over Xmas and arrived to a magnificent house with everything you would want to to ultimate highest standards. There was a Xmas tree in the living room and a beautiful welcome hamper with bread prosecco eggs biscuits and things too many to mention. There was milk and butter in the fridge and a massive home made chocolate cake just f...more
5 star plus everything top quality The only thing missing is a 2nd loo. Great little village lots of walks straight from the door and a very welcoming pub near by
Really lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and furnished and just great for 2 + a dog. We loved the area, loved Kirkby Lonsdale (especially the Brewery!) which you can walk to in 15 minutes and had wonderful walks from cottage with others within 30 mins - Malham Cove, Ribblehead, Dentdale (beautiful). We will definitely come back and would use Mill House Cottages again to find a property given the quality. Just a minor point (no issue) but for such a luxury property we thought there could be more wine glasses (only 3 for a property that sleeps 4?) and maybe some champagne flutes?
Prior to our stay at Ingleborough house we received excellent instructions on getting to the house and how to gain access. The house was warm and welcoming, it was spotlessly clean, it was well equipped with everything you could possibly need and a lovely thoughtful gift pack for us including some lovely mince pies, appreciated with a lovely coffee after our journey there. There were eight of us in our party and we all loved it and some are looking to stay again.
Perfect for long country walks and visiting the lakes. Clean, warm, inviting and very relaxing. The cottage was beautifully decorated and furnished and had a wonderful charm about it. Welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch and the hosts had even thought to leave things like dog towels and bowls. There was plenty of wood for the log burner and even though we didn’t use the garden, I can see how it would be lovely to sit out there in the summer. Thank you for a lovely stay. We hope to return one day.
Howgills Barn more than met our expectations. The moment we walked in it had the wow factor. Full of character yet modern, spacious yet cosy and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed, especially the kitchen, with everything you could need and more. The log burner in the lounge area provided for warm snug evenings in and both the bedrooms were large and comfortable with plenty of storage. Both bathrooms were also lovely, with large walk in wet room style showers and big baths. The location is stunning, step outside the door and all around are unspoilt views of the dal...more
We stayed at the cowshed between Xmas and New Year and luckily before we were locked down again! We had 2 days of fantastic walks and enjoyed the hot tub even though it was freezing as once you were in it was very relaxing. My only very small criticism was a couple of essentials missing from the kitchen like a tea towel and bread knife - but our lovely host kindly lent us one of her own. Overall a lovely stay we will be back Tgank you.
This place was spotless and had every comfort you could wish for. Freshly refurbished and decorated with everything brand new. Plenty of space for 2 couples wanting to share with the king sized beds. Nice boot room area and cloakroom for muddy walkers. Two living areas which are both cosy. Central heating was automatic and worked a treat as did the log burners. Might need a degree to operate the ovens/hob as they were so modern but we managed! All in all a lovely house in a great location.
What a magic place to stay for both adults and children ( they loved it especially the welcome pack )with views to die for, we really enjoy enjoyed our stay and the icing on my hubbies 70th birthday cake was the wonderful glorious weather! We had a wonderful time would really love to stay again. Thelma cumbria.
We were lucky enough to have been able to stay at the Old Post Office during December. The pictures do not do it justice, it was beautiful, elegant, warm and cosy. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need and more, the beds and bedding were comfortable and luxurious. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed for an extra couple of days. The village is lovely, everyone was very friendly and the local village shop is stocked full of interesting food and lovely homemade cakes. We have stayed at a couple of mill house cottage properties now and we are never disappointed and will be back ag...more
A lovely cosy cottage amidst glorious scenery. The perfect place to rest and relax. Beautiful walks from the door. Our 5th visit which speaks for itself. Thank you team for keeping us COVID safe.
Just what we needed. We only live 30 miles away but this was well worth the drive!! What a character filled house, yes it's near the motorway which can be heard in the distance but it's no noisier than the weir further upstream!! Each room has it's own chill out zone, from the bay window above the 'boat dock' to the many different garden seats and to the toilet seat!! The beds are to die for, (so much so I've recorded the supplier's details to order one myself). A walk along the riverbank on the opposite side of the river allows yourself to gloat that "That's where we live" The village is lo...more
First impressions are important. We arrived late on Friday afternoon, just as darkness was falling, and Mill House Cottage could not have looked more welcoming - tastefully lit, with Christmas Tree twinkling. The heating was cranked up to the max. These people know what they're doing, we thought. Make no mistake, this is a premium property, finished and maintained to a very high standard. During our stay we were treated to a look around the Southerdale and Howgills Barn properties nearby, and they have the same premium feel. Attention to detail is great too, and the owners, who live close by,...more
What a fabulous week we had in The Pavillion. Certainly worthy of 5 stars. Great location, relaxing
Very pleasant stay. Very clean and nicely decorated. Problem with television soon rectified. Quiet location
We enjoyed a super week at this beautiful villa located in a very quiet area yet only 10 minutes drive to the coast and 20 minutes to St Tropez. The villa is extremely stylish with fabulous grounds and a gorgeous swimming pool. The village of Plan de La Tour is very quaint with several restaurants to choose from as well as a couple of small stores selling everything you need including local wines. We have recommended the property to our friends and family.
Really enjoyed our stay at The Stables. Kirkby Lonsdale is two minutes away and has everything you need, good butcher, bakery and green grocer. Ideally located for outdoors exploring with an endless supply of walking and biking routes either from the door step or by car. Very well looked after by the hosts Anneka & Patrick, would really recommend without doubt.
A delightful and cosy cottage with all amenities. The friendly neighbours and welcome pack made us feel wanted and we had a wonderful time here. Loved walking up the Dales and along the river.
Beautiful cottage in a great position for getting everywhere in a short walk. Facilities more than ample and the bed is so comfy. During these strange times being able to stay at church mews made our Christmas. Lovely pubs all in 5 mins walking and wonderful views by the river
Lovely, homely cottage which is well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc. Very comfortable beds with lovely furnishings and plenty of lamps dotted around the property creating a lovely warm atmosphere. Loved seeing the swaledale sheep out of the kitchen window and the walk across the fields to Barbon village was very handy.
We had a lovely week (COVID restrictions notwithstanding) at Skye Fall - and will be looking to return. Lovely place, wonderful views and brilliant loch access.
Unfortunately we stayed at the barn before it was finished but for the money paid I would have expected a higher standard or to have been notified in advance. What has been finished is done to an exceptional standard although with such small bedrooms this would have worked better as a 2 bedroom than a 3 bedroom. A couple of times in the stay I tried to contact the owners as directed but got no reply which didn’t help. However the sun shone and views are to die for. This is not for children due to upstairs windows.
