The apartment is beautiful and furnished to a high standard. Katie the owner was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area. The area is very scenic and there is lots to do, we did a lot of travelling along the East Coast, Findhorn and Hopeman are particularly nice beaches. We also travelled to John OGroats and across to the Orkneys. We are hoping to go back again next year and could not recomend using the snug enough.
After a 12 coach journey the double bed was very welcoming ......very peaceful breakaway .... thank you .
We had a brilliant holiday at the Granary. The apartment exceeded our expectations and was beautifully presented. It was lovely to eat breakfast looking out at the sea. Its location is convenient for exploring the north east coast of Scotland and there is a Tesco within walking distance for provisions. (There is also a Coop nearby). There is private parking right outside the apartment block and the approach to the 1st floor apartment is spotless and looks recently refurbished (as does the apartment). The Information panel about the history of the building is really interesting and there are p...more
Almost don't have any to tell people how good it was. Lovely welcome good base and we will return. Xx
Inverness was a very interesting city with lots to offer, the location of the apartment was very central which made visiting very easy, great parking and the apartment was very homely and a pleasure to come home to after a day of touring.
From first impressions to packing up to go we were very impressed with Craobhan Cottage. First class accommodation with lots of lovely little extras:- flowers, wine, biscuits and even some fresh milk in the fridge. The cottage is very well laid out and finished to a very high standard. Our host could not have been more welcoming and helpful, even popping in to let me know there was a lovely sunset developing if we wanted pictures. Stunning views, lots of birds, rabbits & even a red squirrel visiting the garden. Centrally located, only an hour or so from Torridon and all the hills you wanted to...more
Warm welcome upon arrival, lovely décor and great facilities. Hot tub and stove fire particular highlights. Cabin is spacious but still cosy. Would definitely return.
The location is great and the cottage is in a great condition. It is just a short walk to the city of Dornoch where you find all that you need for your daily needs. The rooms were spacious enough and the equipment very new. Would book it again if i go back to the northern Highlands.
The owners make this property special-very atentative to any needs. The home is super clean and has everything you need for a golf trip It is only 1 mile from Royal Dornoch golf club
We had a super time in Larchfield. Superb location and everything was provided to make for a really enjoyable stay. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Our grandchildren had great fun playing in the garden and enjoyed visits to nearby Landmark, Highland Wildlife Park and beautiful beach at Nairn.
I originally booked this for myself and my girlfriend but things didn't work out with that so instead, I took my parents with me. I was not allowed to stay myself as its only a 2 person cottage but I was allowed to come and go during the day to spend time with my parents. Hosts were very friendly and there were loads of lovely walks in around the area. Also, there was a fantastic restaurant called the steadings not too far away from the cottage. Things to note on was a lot of smoke from burning logs nearby. Also, the track leading up to the cottage is a bit rough so having a bigger car would...more
Holiday at Harbour View in Cromarty was excellent. Very quirky style inside the house and the garden was perfect for watching the world go by at the Harbour. Lots of wee extras make you feel very welcome. We definitely plan to book this house again.
This is a modern, well furnished house, situated close to the centre of Aviemore. It is a good size - larger than would be suggested from the photos - and beds, bedding and towels are of a good standard. Note that you have two single beds (Bed 1) and bunk beds (Bed 2). It is also well provisioned at the out-set; a rare feature indeed in the UK & Europe. There is a path close to the property but you do need a car, given the vagaries of the weather. The agents were most professional. There are only two minor criticisms of the property: the instructions / guidance are poor to non-existe...more
We had a lovely stay in Bowlins. When we arrived we found it in pristine condition. Lots of crisp white bedding and soft white towels. It had everything we needed. Great base for exploring the area, so much to do.
We book this place for one week me my wife and my friend and his wife.Apertment is in perfect place of highland and have excellent view of mountain.conveniece store is on four minute walk. Place is so nice and clean and fully equipped with cutlery plates, laundry, dish washer it's like home to home. Diana is really friendly and smiley host.neibhours are so quite.i specially recommended this place.
Fantastic apartment. Beautifully located and immaculate and clean. Quite location but near the city centre. Pre visit communications were excellent. Highly recommend this to all
The house is new and have everything that is required for a comfortable stay. It is clean and well kept. Everyone of us enjoyed our stay.
Great property with friendly owners, in an ideal location. Lovely and light property, and very quiet. Spacious for a 1-bedroom apartment, with comfortable seating for relaxing after a day exploring. Plenty of storage space too. The balcony is a bonus - wonderful in sunshine, but provides amazing views whatever the weather and for sunsets over Ben Wyvis.
Had a fantastic stay, loved the house and the location is brilliant. Only the back garden let it down a wee bit, but definitely would recommend and stay again ☺
We had a wonderful week at Red Kite Cottage. It was quite comfortable for the 4 of us. and was warm and homely. it is located in a smashing location, and a good starting point for trips all over the Highlands ( especially the Black Isle and Cromarty Breweries!) We recommend it highly. Regards to Margaret and Paul, the owners, a very nice couple. What a beautiful cabin. Fred, Pat, Rob and Claire.
A beautiful bungalow in a lovely location, fixtures and fittings were top of the range, plenty of places to visit nearby.
Very good! Felt like our own 'home' in Inverness! Everything within walking distance. My teenage daughter was very happy with the good internet connection :-D. Supermarket very nearby (only the emptying of the bottle bank at 6:30 in the morning was slightly less pleasant).
Schönes, zentral gelegenes, geräumiges Appartement. Gute Ausstattung. Viele Restaurants und Geschäfte in der Umgebung. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge an die Küste oder Loch Ness
Have just had a great weeks stay here...lots to do in the surrounding area and centrally located for travelling the Highlands. Cottage itself is lovely and has everything you need. Would definitely stay here again.
We had the chance of a few days at the start of a longer self catering trip to Scotland and knew of Broc Cabin from our visit to Loch Ruthven Bird hide to view Slavonian Grebes that breed there. Broc was also one of the few s/c places that take short term bookings and not just a full week/Sat-Sat which we liked as we try and travel mid week where we can. As requested we telephoned news of our approach to the owner in order that we could be met for the 'admin' side and all was well. A very warm and friendly reception. The cabin was everything and more that we could require and in a clean and...more
Donald and Anne are wonderful hosts. Very accomodating and full of information. The cottage is very comfortable, super clean and has all the ammenities needed to have a quiet and relaxing time.
Lovely lodge, nice quiet location, very clean and well equipped. Great base for travelling around the Highlands.
Good value, great location very comfortable and clean. Minor issue was that there were two couples sharing flat but only one set of keys
We stayed at Rosehip Cottage for 4 nights and it was perfect for us. It is so Close to the old man of storr that you can get an early start there. The view from the Cottage is amazing and there was more then enough space for us.
From the big windows overlooking the firth you can sit and watch .... seals, ospreys fishing, deer, tawny owls, barn owls, buzzards... Numerous birds The house is situated on a quiet road and is far enough away from civilisation for those who value peace and quiet but is a short drive/ bike ride from excellent local shops, cafes etc. Only complaint is the agonisingly slow wifi ( was off for most of the time we were there - BT supposed to be upgrading) We found a faster connection at the visitor centre in Dornoch for checking weather Slightly pricey but worth it for the views
Fishermans cottage is a beautiful cottage with a superb location. The cottage is well styled with a simple streamlined look, really feeling like a Fishermans cottage by the sea with lots of character. Could have been a bit cleaner though, however we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and wouldn't rule out revisiting.
Really enjoyed our stay this is our 3rd time visiting Aviemore for our summer holiday. The home was lovely and the area was really quiet. Great access to the cycle routes which our kids enjoyed. So looking forward to booking up again for next year.
Very comfortable and manager responded when we had questions about the gas stove. We wish the first info for renters was the closest grocery store and how to get there. Driving in, we had to ask neighbors for that info.
We've been holidaying as as family for the last twelve years in Aviemore, and have stayed in a variety of properties, to which we must say this has set a new standard in terms of quality and overall ambience. This was the first time we have used Gael Holiday Homes and the booking / confirmation process was very straightforward and good levels of communication were displayed. The house is very tastefully finished and oozes quality and space, obviously this comes at a cost, but we could certainly say we were impressed by the whole offering v cost and we look forward to returning in future to t...more
The apartment was amazing with everything one could ask for. Clean and modern in a great location, it met our expectations and some. We would definitely return and recommend it to anyone.
The house is spacious, comfortable and well located. There is plenty to see and to do (dolphin watching, mountain biking, walking), the next supermarket is not far away and the garden is great for playing football. The table tennis in the garage was used every day. Whenever coming back to Scotland, this is our first choice.
Almost nothing negative to say. The entire apartment is tastefully furnished and the bed and mattress were especially comfortable. As a result of a mistake of ours, there was a problem that required contacting the host , who went out of his way to resolve the issue with the least inconvenience to us (again, despite the fact that the problem was entirely our fault). The only surprising thing for us was that because of the ground floor locationk there is no view onto the street.
This is a lovely apartment with lovely views from the bedrooms. The location was good but you do need a car.
Comfortable affordable accommodation for two adults or couple with young children in great location.Dog friendly too.
This is a lovely, comfortable apartment in a very quiet area. It was ideal for us attending a wedding at the Kingsmills Hotel as it's less than half a mile along the road. Scott was very helpful and friendly. A welcoming bottle of wine when we arrived which was a nice touch. Thanks Scott, we really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely apartment set over the main town square. Ideally placed for golf and eating out without having to use the car. Everything for a comfortable stay is in the flat. The only negative would only apply to someone who struggles with stairs as the apartment is et over first and second floors.
We enjoyed our mini break in Inverness , what a beautiful clean little city. Ashley house is in a good location and has ample space for a large family to stay comfortably for a good few weeks,as it is home from home . I would recommend this holiday to home anytime. A Christmas season holiday would be lovely at Ashley house .
Good location. Easy access to hiking trails. Very close to shops, restaurants and train station. Comfortable. Good appliances including washer dryer. Was more cost as it is set up with 1 bedroom with queen bed and 1 bedroom with 4 bunk beds (only 1 bathroom). Light with large front windows and a large balcony.
We really enjoyed our Stay, ist was a nice newly build apartment. Only thing we missed was a bigger pan and a bigger pot to cook. Everything else was perfect and in a good condition.
Spacious, comfortable property set in a rural, tranquil location. Well equipped. Stunning views. Highly recommended.
The Crown House apartment is as good as new and very cosy. The only negative thing I could mention, is that the cleanliness wasn't as expected (I found dust and mud in the cupboard and in the bedroom, someone else's sock in the washing machine, a dirty oven tray in the oven, waste packaging in the bathroom, ...) I emailed Gael homes (the agency through which I had booked) right after I had cleaned up myself late at night upon arriving, which was a Wednesday. On Friday evening, I received a phone call from housekeeping who had just received my mail through Gael homes. A friendly lady apolog...more
We had an excellent time st Clisham, with well appointed accommodation, panoramic views over the Firth and beyond, quiet and peaceful area, it all added up to a first class holiday home. The owners were also lovely people to deal with
The apartment was comfortable and well furnished, with easy access to central Inverness. The on-site car parking was an added bonus, providing secure parking.
The apartment was well located, in a very quiet neighborhood and close to the main roads aswell as to the city center. Nevertheless there were no coffeehouse in the neighborhood. The apartment was very nicely decorated and was prepared for longer staying. The comfort in the apartment could be enhanced by giving attention to some details, especially for short staying hosts, like the provision of hygiene items and housekeeping services.
Well equipped except for mirrors in the main bedroom but very clean and would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment, very clean and spacious with a great location. Only a couple of small points to make which would have helped our stay. Firstly a clothes horse, there was a washing line outside but no use as it was raining. Also the bed in the master bedroom could do with replacing as quite small and uncomfortable, for 3 nights it was fine but definitely something to think about. These small points would not stop us staying again though and we plan to return in the future.
Our stay at Shoreview was enjoyable from the moment Auriel greeted us and let us take occupancy early . The house was very thoughtfully equipped with every conceivable piece of kitchen equipment. The food welcome pack was great and even included homemade Scottish tablet. The house was beautifully located near the Firth and access to Inverness was quick . Auriel was a very organized host and had left travel information, take away menus and equipment instructions for us.
Close to restaurants, walking trails and grocery store. Very clean and kitchen and bathroom are modern. Only downfall is t is beside a primary school and the children can be heard playing outside in the mornings. I would definitely book with them again!
This is a great place to get away for a nice weekend and privacy. We loved the area and the people. Great.
We really enjoyed our stay at Margaret Street cottage - it was nice and relaxing and there was plenty to do in the nearby area
Our stay at Sunnybank was excellent. The cottage has everything you need and is in a tremendous location just yards from Royal Dornoch golf course and less than 10 minutes walk to the beach. Would definitely go back again!!! Booking with Gael Holiday Homes was a pleasure!
Wouldn't have minded a view that overlooked the river rather than the road. However couldn't fault the apartment itself which was great, really Central and very clean with lovely shower, kitchen and living space. Thank you
The Innes Street Apartment (G/F) has reserved car parking and is conveniently located for Inverness town centre and major routes. The owners have worked hard to make using the apartment as easy as possible. The apartment has everything you need for short stays. The only down side is that the living room does not get much light but that was not a problem as it was only used in the evenings. There were plenty of towels and toiletries as well as crockery and kitchen utensils with tea/coffee/milk supplied and the bed was comfortable. Would definitely use this apartment again.
Apartment was clean, spacious, well equipped and was within 10 minutes walking distance to the city centre which was very convenient.
this was the sixth year holidaying in the area and this was the best 2 weeks to date! great accommodation, very well equipped and everything worked and had space on the cupboards for our bits and pieces. very comfortable beds. good location in the village and close to other amenities, restaurants and shops.
Excellent stay, clean, very comfortable, appt had everything you could need, good location. Only downside was parking - we had to ask people to move from designated car spot. Would be better if there was a lock for the car space.
Very well equipped and clean, great garden as well. Comfortable rooms. The paintings in the cottage are fabulous. We will be booking again.
A cosy, well equipped cottage which was perfect for a family of 2 adults and a teenager. The wi-fi connection was excellent during our stay and enabled us to load photos onto Facebook, etc with no difficulties. We had no mobile phone signal in the cottage which was bliss! We particularly appreciated the BBQ provided and the outdoor patio space at the rear of the property which was a lovely space to eat out in after a busy day dolphin spotting, And it was helpful to have an efficient washing machine and separate tumble dryer during our stay. The kitchen includes a dining table, although we ...more
Perfect location with allocated parking a major reason for selecting apartment. Clean, comfortable and with all essential requirements (and extras) for staying in the apartment. Although in city centre it was very quiet. Perfect for long or short break.
Fantastic lodge clean spacious great views from balcony large rooms the only thing id suggest is the 2 double rooms could do with somewhere to hang clothes as there is no hanging pole and 1 room could do with a mirror apart from that we wish we could of stayed longer would definatly consider coming back and will recommend this property
The cottage was very comfortable and clean with all the facilities we needed. Easy access to town and beach. Would recommend this cottage.
A great week with grandchildren. Cottage had everything we could need except a microwave which was not a problem for us. The downstairs loo was a bonus. Plenty to do/see in the area with wee folk - play parks, beaches, walks, cafes, dolphins, bird display at Dunrobin and much more.
Really enjoyed our stay. Extremely clean and lovely rooms. With very comfortable rooms and great for a family four as nice and spacious for returning after a busy day to relax . If coming back definitely want to stay here again and for us enjoyed far more than all being squashed in one hotel room. Only downside is in summer if need open windows night hear traffic . However still would win over many other places stayed. Communication also fantastic in advance which is great when you know there is no actual reception.
We enjoyed the convenience to shopping, restaurants, and sights. It was seemed expensive to what we would pay in Australia but understand it is the high season of Scotland. Just be prepared for stairs, this was a little bit difficult with luggage.
in spite of having lots of rain the relaxation of being at Otterburn was just delightful. Plenty to do in surrounding area if prepared to put in a few miles or just simply soak in the being there. Do take plenty provisions as only two very handy and happy minimal local shops. Recommend the Big Sands caravan park for a lovely meal out.
We had a great time at the Tigh na Mara house. It was exactly what we wanted - quite area with beautiful scenery, updated amenities and plenty of space for everyone. We loved the large dining room that opened to the kitchen. The owners were friendly and even provided a welcome basket for us! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Stayed here for 6 days and was pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. Location is fantastic, view from balcony is amazing! Inside was everything that was needed for the stay and all in good order. Beds were very comfy and the added bonus of 2 bathrooms worked out well with older children. Definitely recommend and would use again if returned.
The cottage was great. The beds were really comfy. The cottage had everything we needed. However, we had a elderly relative some handrails between kitchen and sitting room and in the bathroom would be good. Also bins in most rooms would be helpful as would a clock in the sitting room. Thank you for a lovely holiday
great little cottage exactly what i hoped for . great location very pleased with the value for money would definately reccomend this place to others
Great value for money. Very clean perfect for kids. I was very happy with this place and would recommend it.
The apartment was cozy and the perfect size for two. Just a great holiday location. The two things that could be improved are that one of the pans is falling apart a little making cooking scary and would be helpful to have instructions as to how to turn on the hot water and heating. Teenie tiny things and both ended up in a laugh opposed to having any bad effect on the holiday.
We have been to Dornoch many times and love the area, however this time we were left very disappointed with the accommodation. The location was good and the views very nice but the cottage was a let down. There was no welcome pack, not even a wee pint of milk, most places provide a little something, so arrive prepared. There was absolutely no outside signs to welcome you in, no plants/flowers nothing at all; inside, the living area was sparse. The two settees are well past their sell by date, very uncomfortable, getting out off them was a task in it's self. The curtains were stained and no...more
The apartment was very comfy and well equipped with everything you need. The location is a bit outside of the city center but with a car everything can be reached within a few minutes. There is a very nice forrest just outside the door. The only pity was that you couldn't open the window in the bedroom.
The house is in an excellent position and only a few minutes walk to the town centre. It is very well equipped with all the necessary tools for a relaxing stay.
Oystercatchers is in a fantastic, peaceful and tranquil location with stunning views and is fairly well equipped. However, the first impression as you arrive is not brilliant as the gate is that rusty that it will only stay closed with the help of a bicycle bungee. The only door that we were given a key to was stiff and not easy to open (this was mentioned in the visitors book by more than one person). We were very disappointed at the overall condition of the inside of the property and now fully understand why there are no photos of the kitchen area and both bathrooms. The furniture was, i...more
A very nice property in a good location, the area is very quiet. A great location for cycling. My only negative comments being that the TV / Digital box failed on the 4th night, there were no instructions for the cooker. There was no floor brush available and the vacuum cleaner was not very good.
We stayed last year as well as this year and will stay again. The location is excellent and the rooms are exactly what we were looking for. The conservatory area is a big winner. We would happily recommend it to anyone and one of our party will be booking it for a family vacation. We will book it again for our annual golf vacation next year.
The view from the kitchen was breathtaking! Each day presented a different view with each change of the weather! Loved the piece & quiet but also the fact you could see a neighbour or two across the crofts. Beautiful part of Scotland.
Inside the cottage is lovely. well laid out , everything like new.Very clean. Lovely views of the ships. The sea comes up to the bottom of the Garden. This is a bird watchers paradise.
A very spacious and well appointed house. Nice garden(s) and perfect location. We had two families in our party, a total of 4 adults and three children, and the property was pretty much ideal. It was roomy, the beds were very comfy, accommodation flexible and the the amenities (including washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer) were excellent. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice! Highly recommended and would happily stay there again.
