We had booked a three night stay at Rosehip Cottage, and although we knew some of the island, we weren't familiar with this area, or the cottage. It was love at first sight when we saw it advertised, and true long lasting love when we arrived!! The cottage is adorable, spick and span, soo soo clean, and just absolutely delightful. Immediately we starting day dreaming about living there! We will definitely go back to Rosehip cottage soon and will take the family with us. I cannot believe how lucky we got in finding this little gem.
We had a brilliant holiday at the Granary. The apartment exceeded our expectations and was beautifully presented. It was lovely to eat breakfast looking out at the sea. Its location is convenient for exploring the north east coast of Scotland and there is a Tesco within walking distance for provisions. (There is also a Coop nearby). There is private parking right outside the apartment block and the approach to the 1st floor apartment is spotless and looks recently refurbished (as does the apartment). The Information panel about the history of the building is really interesting and there are p...more
The apartment is beautiful and furnished to a high standard. Katie the owner was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area. The area is very scenic and there is lots to do, we did a lot of travelling along the East Coast, Findhorn and Hopeman are particularly nice beaches. We also travelled to John OGroats and across to the Orkneys. We are hoping to go back again next year and could not recomend using the snug enough.
Great apartment. The photos actually don't do the apartment justice. Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious, warm, excellent location and dog friendly..I couldn't ask for anything more. Can't wait to book our next stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Maus Steading very much. Sure, having great weather helped but we found the house location perfect. Being able to walk to the beach in 5 minutes was great and only 2 minutes drive into Dornoch. The house interior has been refurbished to a high standard throughout and we enjoyed the use of the log burner. There are great views of the Dornoch Firth from the front garden which aren't apparent from the pictures on the web site. We would certainly love to come back , as long as you can guarantee the weather !
The house was very well equipped and spacious, the bed linen and towels freshly laundered. The view from the front windows of the house was lovely and the small estate of houses the house is in was very quiet and peaceful. Easy access to Inverness and beyond. The house has a large lounge with a huge TV and a smaller sitting room which is ideal if you are holidaying with children and want some peace and quiet! The bedrooms are large with lots of storage space and comfy beds. Ideal for a family or two couples with kiddies - especially as one bedroom has an en-suite, there is a family bathro...more
This was a comfy cottage right in the middle of Inverness. Easy walking distance to everything including restaurants and cafe; the town centre and the beautiful loch and firth.
Thanks to June and Bob the owners of Burnside Croft. The cottage was lovely, very clean and well presented. A small enclosed garden, and a lovely private location. We really enjoyed our short stay and would not hesitate to return to this cottage again if we were visiting this area. Just outside Beauly so easy access to shops and amenities, but far enough from the beaten track to feel like a retreat. June and Bob were very welcoming and we were very impressed by the eco fire/boiler too.
An excellent welcome is always provided by the hosts. The cottage is extremely well appointed and comfortable. All the facilities anyone could need.

The location is great and the cottage is in a great condition. It is just a short walk to the city of Dornoch where you find all that you need for your daily needs. The rooms were spacious enough and the equipment very new. Would book it again if i go back to the northern Highlands.
The flat was comfortable, spacious, warm and well-equipped in every way. It was ideally located in the centre of Inverness with easy access to train and bus station for travel around the highlands. Lynsey was helpful and welcoming when we arrived. We would definitely stay again and recommend the flat to our friends.
Very honest (price, description...) Modern and preasant interior Owners do everything for an excellent stay The additional professionnal agency added while you use booking.com does not bring any real service.
Warm welcome upon arrival, lovely décor and great facilities. Hot tub and stove fire particular highlights. Cabin is spacious but still cosy. Would definitely return.
The cottage was ideally located in a peaceful but not isolated location; as a lone female traveller it was reassuring to have Mairi and family next door as it is off the beaten track but you'd hardly know they were there. Mairi was helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. The cottage really was a home from home, having everything you would need for the stay, it was warm and comfortable and the views were lovely. There is plenty to do in the area and you are situated in a great place to get to all the attractions, I can thoroughly recommend a stay there.
Absolutely stunning flat, perfect for an adult and 2 kids. A true home from home. Couldn't fault a thing. We sat at night with the patio doors on the balcony open, looking out onto the most stunning view of the Cairngorms.
We would highly recommend Larchfield as a home away from home. The house was perfect for us (2 adults and 3 children aged 9, 6 & 2) and was well equipped for us all with a very large main bedroom, 2 twin rooms and a travel cot that was provided for us on arrival. Having the use of the washing machine etc was a big bonus for us. Everything in the house was easy to use and when we did get a little stuck all the instruction manuals were there to help (which came in handy with the induction hob!). The location is fantastic, only 10 minutes drive from city centre and an excellent base for days ou...more
This was an ideally sited property and served us very well Well furnished and stocked with kitchen equipment.
Lovely, cosy place to return to after a day cycling or walking. Everything you need provided, it really is home from home!
An excellent apartment which allowed for two couples to enjoy the same standard of accommodation as each other with an excellent "home from home" feel. Location was good with short walks to shops and restaurants. City centre a very short drive away with plenty of restaurants. Would advise booking restaurants as some days we were there (even mid week) we found many fully booked! The apartment is on first and second floors so you will need to be able to cope with stairs.
Spent 4 nights at the bungalow on the bank holiday weekend. The accommodation was excellent with two double rooms and twin room for the children, a large open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen. The bungalow is beautiful albeit we spent most of our time out and about. It was a family holiday and everyone enjoyed the hot tub when we returned after a hard day walking and cycling, this was an added bonus. There is a large garden and the bungalow is situated at the end of a cul de sac which made it safe for the children. The location was ideal as the cycle paths were just across the road, so ver...more
It was amazing. Views from the cabin are spectacular. The owner is lovely and very helpful. The accommodation is spotless, very clean and so well equipped and very comfortable. It was a fantastic holiday! Everything we need. The owner even bought a new change mat for me as I had a 3 month old baby. The area around was so safe for my two older boys (age 7 and 4) to explore and we found a beautiful play area not to far from the cabin. Thank you to Broc log cabin. It was great and we would highly recommend staying there.
Cottage is extremely comfortable, clean, spacious and well equipped. We had a very relaxing stay. There's so much to do in the area and the cottage was a welcome retreat after days out having fun with the family.
This is a beautiful cottage with lovely Scottish fabrics and furnishings. It was warm and cosy and the kitchen was adequately equipped. The town of Dornoch is a great place with a lovely café and whiskey shop, take away food shops and pubs where you can eat or just have a drink. It is also a good central point for visiting this part of Scotland.
My partner and I booked a couple of days away on the 14th and 15th of april 2017. We collected an envelope from the hotel next door to apartments and in the envelope was keys to private car park and keys and fobs for doors with straightforward instructions on a lamented piece of paper. On entering the apartment straight away we noticed how clean and tidy and modern the apartment was and how much detail had been put into making sure our stay was going to be comfortable.to which it was may I add. The apartments are located In a central area of the town centre with bars, restaurants, shops a...more
A beautiful cabin set in its own garden, both cabin and garden very dog friendly. Centrally located and ideal for touring the north, shopping in Inverness or just chilling out at home. The cabin was very homely with little extras included, a lovely stay which I would recommend to anyone.
The views make this a wonderful place for a peaceful break - we sat in the seats on the porch until dark every day watching wildlife - deer in the garden, various birds including an osprey fishing in the firth. Good location - near enough to shops etc if you need them but far away to escape it all. Roads quiet for cycling and handy for a range of golf courses. Homely atmosphere - obviously a much loved house but pity that there is no fire. It was warm enough but a wood burning stove would have made it cosier in the evening. Spent a lovely week in the autumn sun and will certainly go back s...more
It was amazing place to stay with great views. The owner was really nice said if needed anything then just to pop over to him.
Everything was great around communication. We have stayed in the house before and it is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Heating worked very well for us ( the timing settings were fine). The hot water heating was on a schedule we could not understand, and as a result we had two days without showers, because the first time we encountered the issue (we were a party of 4 for a couple of days only) we didn't understand that the water only heats in the morning, and the second time we left early the last day (7 am), and the water had not come on to heat before we left. Might be helpfu...more
Anne & Donald are great hosts. The "cottage" is a semi-detached, attached to their house. Comfy & homely two bedroom house only a few miles from Inverness (Daviot East), but off the main through-fair.
Had a great holiday with walks on our doorstep. House comfortable but was missing a few basics, which would have made our stay more enjoyable. Kitchen was lacking casserole dishes and some pans didn't work on the induction hob so making a meal had to be rather basic. The lounge area would benefit from some lamps and a rug to lessen the noise from the wooden flooring. The twin bedded room had no wardrobe or storage for clothing but this is probably due to it's size. That said, the house is lovely and the location couldn't be better for some beautiful walks in the area. Weather was very kin...more
It was a amazing home to stay. I was with my friends and we had a great time. It was a very clean apartment and had all the utilities we needed and with an excellent location. Will definitely recommend this place
Well situated, beautiful apartment with stunning views. Easy to find and lots of available parking. The apartment is modern and tastefully decorated with lots of space, the heating and TV took a while to understand but that may be due to my level of ability rather than the complexity of the equipment. We stayed at 7 The Steadings for 3 nights and didn't hear any of the other residents, a very pleasant and quiet break. I would definitely recommend the accommodation and will be back myself.
Enjoyed a week at Balorrin with our dog, Nico, who loved the local walks on the doorstep (there is an excellent dog walk starting right outside the back door). The cottage is well equipped which meant the usual extras that we bring (such as sharp knives for cooking) were just not needed. It's a great place to relax yet close to local amenities in Muir of Ord (great butcher) and places of interest. I think we will be back.
Enjoyed my stay close to town centre lots to see and do in Inverness and surrounding area. Accomadation was great clean and had everything we needed comfy bed too and milk in fridge when we arrived fruit and bottle off wine a lovely touch will be back.
Very nice equipped appartment with everything needed. We felt like home. Thank you very much. Dornoch is very nice ass well.
The property was was very comfortable, clean and of a high standard, The internet was slow and was the only negative.
Everything was fine. Rooms comfortable. Situation great - easy walking distance from the centre f town, and even easier to the golf club. The only annoyance was that the fridge had a tendency to rattle noisily. Could probably be fixed by adjusting the legs, or standing on a beermat :)
Easy key pick up from mercury hotel next door.secure parking.spotless apartment, very well equipped with lovely view over the castle.bedroom blind requires attention, slats missing and allowed too much light in,probably requires a curtain or roller blind, but that was the only slight complaint.overall a nice secure building which was spotless in all areas.
Rossie Lodge Apartment was an appropiated choice to be at Inverness. Great place, with all the commodities inside. The arrival was easy, and everything was well prepared and fine to have a wonderful vacations.
Great little cottage absolutely everything you could need. Great kitchen. Very comfortable. Fantastic selection of DVD to peruse. Nice to get away from mobile and the internet. Handy for everywhere on the Black Isle. Nice size Co Op, excellent, if expensive Indian takeaway and a Chinese takeaway to boot, all withing 2 mins walk of the cottage. Don't miss Cromarty.
The apartment is in a quiet residential road only a 10 minute easy stroll into the centre of Inverness with a good choice of shops and eateries. Close to several supermarkets. On road parking was never a problem - a permit is provided and we always got a space immediately outside the apartment - and there are many free spaces along the road (or at least when we stayed). Facilities were of a high standard - lovely shower (no bath). Very comfortable bed and good kitchen. Tea towel was very small (the size of a handkerchief) but other linen (bath towels and bedding) were good. The owner texted us...more
Unbelievable price for the value. The apartment had everything we needed and was in the perfect location. I plan to come back in July and stay here again.
It is so nice, pretty clean, almost new and has all the comforts. The living room is quite big and comfortable as well the bedroom. It is 5 minutes walk from a supermarket and 10 from the city centre. It is on the ground floor on a street which is not too busy so we didn't have any problem.
Really enjoyed our stay in the King St app Lovely flat in great location. First time we have not stayed in a hotel in Inverness and found it much better as flat gave us much more freedom.
Property was very clean and well appointed. Bed was a weak point. Location OK if you have a car. Overall pleased with the booking.
Lovely home from home very close to the centre of Aviemore. Only criticism- no hairdryer! Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic place, fantastic views, fantastic holiday.h holiday home with everything you could want real home from home, could not have asked for anything better.
lovely place the apartment was very warm shower was good not like some showers ware the water dribbled out. i love the fact that the trains just outside the kitchen window I had the blinds up all the time so I can see the train pass and the pubs just down the road very friendly people thare will go back again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sunnybank. The bungalow took a while to warm up but was fine once it did. All wants were catered for and it was very convenient for walking to Dornoch and the beach etc. Would recommend Sunnybank as a great place to stay.
this was the sixth year holidaying in the area and this was the best 2 weeks to date! great accommodation, very well equipped and everything worked and had space on the cupboards for our bits and pieces. very comfortable beds. good location in the village and close to other amenities, restaurants and shops.
This holiday accomodation was very clean and well presented. The kitchen was well equipped and the property was warm and cosy. The location was ideal for walking our dog and was within walking distance of many activities. We enjoyed our stay.
Definitely stay again!!! Central location. Great night sleep and top of range equipment. Only didn't got, is hot enough watter for bath.
The apartment was exactly what we needed for our family vacation and was in perfect walking location to everything. I would highly recommend to everyone.
BRILLIANT that`s all we can say a very spacious cottage and good sized garden only a few minutes walk from the town, golf club and beach. All the rooms were of a good size and plenty of room to move about in the cottage and are already planning our return.
Very well equipped and clean, great garden as well. Comfortable rooms. The paintings in the cottage are fabulous. We will be booking again.
This cottage is in a lovely location and although quite basic, is welcoming and a good base from which to explore the local area.
Very nice house with a lot of space and very comfortable. Beautiful environment with lots of sheep. Also the 4000 year old tomb in the vicinity was very interesting. I only missed flowers in the garden.
Good location 10 min walk to town no noise at night look out for grouse as you walk around even get tesco to del shopping here
A great location to stay in. A short walk to town and easy to drive out of. Very warm and comfortable, ( the squeaking bed in the master bedroom needs some attention though... ) Lovely views of the Cairngorms.
The cottage was fantastic. The only difficult thing was that the bunk bed, though an adult size, did not have enough height for the person on the bottom bunk to sit up properly. Other than that the cottage was very comfy, thank you.
The chalet exceeded all expectations; it is much better than it seemed on the pictures, which is rare. It had everything we needed, and more. The deck was excellent for stargazing on clear nights; there was little ambient light which was wonderful.
Good time in a great house with plenty of comfort and space for all members of our party. We will stay again if we had the need for so many people. All neccessary items where in the house, sitting near the oven was very special in thr evenings. The short distance to the lighthouse for dolphins watching was very confortable.
This is the second time I have submitted this review. An excellently modernised old fisherman's cottage. The kitchen, bathroom, though a shaver point would have been useful, and downstairs w.c. are excellent. The Location is excellent with superb views and excellent opportunities to observe Dolphins and birds. However a slight movement of furniture revealed that there had been little, if any, cleaning for some considerable time. More explicit instructions on the hot water system, mentioned by other guests, would have been of great use as would instructions for the oven and toaster. The L...more
Had a fabulous 6 nights in this comfy home from home. The cottage had all we needed to make our stay comfortable and well catered for. The location was a superb base from which to explore the Bobby Black Isle. I hope to return one day.
Can't fault the accommodation in any way. Lovely and comfortable, great location, and had everything we needed. Directions were spot on. Smoke alarm going off at 5am was a bit of a shocker, but seemed to be random. Allocated parking could do with numbering, as someone took the space allocated for an entire day - suspect someone shopping in town not willing to pay their own parking. Would definitely return, the two minor issues didn't really matter.
Very good Suggest a dishwasher would make it perfect. Why the review needs to be 100 characters long is a mystery.
Oystercatchers is in a fantastic, peaceful and tranquil location with stunning views and is fairly well equipped. However, the first impression as you arrive is not brilliant as the gate is that rusty that it will only stay closed with the help of a bicycle bungee. The only door that we were given a key to was stiff and not easy to open (this was mentioned in the visitors book by more than one person). We were very disappointed at the overall condition of the inside of the property and now fully understand why there are no photos of the kitchen area and both bathrooms. The furniture was, i...more
Had a really comfortable stay, Its better to use sat nav directions as the direction they gave when booking brings you up a steep single unmade lane.
Kerrisdale provided everything we wanted for our weekend. Clean, comfortable and well located. It would have been great to be able to have lit a fire in the sitting room - the kids enjoyed the cosy blankets provided!
Well furnished , comfortable, warm, holiday home. Bonus of having three toilets and 2 bathroom / shower rooms. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
A very spacious and well appointed house. Nice garden(s) and perfect location. We had two families in our party, a total of 4 adults and three children, and the property was pretty much ideal. It was roomy, the beds were very comfy, accommodation flexible and the the amenities (including washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer) were excellent. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice! Highly recommended and would happily stay there again.
Needs storage in bedrooms and comfortable seating in living room. Needs to feel more homely. No pictures ,ornaments etc. Kitchen needs things like a fying pan and played out better. Dining chairs are very slack and need fixed. Bathroom needs a few things fixed.
First impressions the caravans don't go in numerical order, the only way we found ours was to go against the direction arrows, which then prompted a man to shout ''You cannot drive in that direction''......being private property this doesn't contravene any rules of the road, plus the car seemed physically OK to proceed against some faded arrows. Once there access was easy. For some reason the next morning at 08:30 the caravan immediately next to us needed immediate maintenance, no alarm clocks required for us as there were plenty of hammers and drills to wake up to. Inside though plenty of hea...more
