This is a gem of a place in central York. Lovely large living room with big sofas. Comfy beds. Very clean. Was the absolute perfect place to stay for a friends weekend away. Close to everything .. pubs, restaurants, Tesco metro. Would definitely stay again and will recommend to others

We were a very short notice booking after being let down in a different accommodation. Lydia in the office was extremely accommodating, arranging an early check in and a late check out for us. The place was easy to find and access as the instructions were so clear.

It's not one of those interesting, medieval buildings but it is clean, warm and in a very central location. I'd stay here again.

The location is absolutely perfect. Everything you could need right on your doorstep. Easy access to attractions. The apartment is spacious and very clean. York Boutique Lets are very helpful. This was our second time staying and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again

We chose this home because it had loads of space for a family, a twin bedroom for the children and was close to the centre with inclusive parking. It did not disappoint! Location wise this home is just a few minutes walk from the shambles and all the city centre attractions and amenities. Lots of eateries all close by and Tesco express and Sainsbury’s local all close by too. It was lovely to not have to worry about parking when so close to the centre, meant we could head out for the day and not worry about getting a space when we got back. There is a bit of noise from the street but this is to be expected for the location and it didn’t bother us too much. We had a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this holiday home.

We had a wonderful stay at the Malt Shovel in York. The location is fantastic—just a short 4-minute walk from the city center, making it easy to explore all the sights. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing visit. Communication with the staff was smooth and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. This was the perfect apartment for our friends weekend away. So spacious, spotlessly clean, well appointed and in a perfect location. Everything was on our doorstep and despite being located on a bus route, was comfortably quiet at night. We’ve had such a great trip that we are already looking to book again. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to spend some time in this beautiful city.

From booking we were given instructions on the property and contact details. It was easy to find and very clear instructions on how to get in. The accommodation was amazing clean and spacious and was good value for money. The apartment is just lovely, elegantly decorated with lovely small touches.
Easy walk into everything York has to offer especially all the restaurants that are close by.
Very well equipped, kitchen has all the things you need if you want to stay in.
The bathrooms were great, loads of hot water and lovely soft big bath sheets.
All the linen was fresh and clean.
Also very clear, easy to follow instructions and a parking space with good access to the apartment.
We loved it and will be going back.
Highly recommend.

This is the second time in 5 years we have stayed in this apartment, it was as good as I remembered.

What makes it special is the location in the centre of York and the inclusive secure parking which means you can arrive on your first day, park your car at no extra cost and then walk to everything over the next few days. It’s great to be able to walk within ten minutes to all the attractions, bars, restaurants and local Tesco or Sainsbury’s.

The apartment itself is clean and comfortable, ideal for visiting York and surrounding areas. Hope to return next year.

I think a hand drawn map with some of the other shops other than the green furniture shop (which we never found ) would have helped. Otherwise a nice flat in a good location.

The flat was in an excellent position for easy walking distance to many of York’s attractions. We didn’t use the car at all during our stay. It was clean and spacious with everything you would need for a city getaway. We would very much consider staying here again in the future. We would recommend getting a York Pass for anyone staying in the city wishing to visit multiple attractions.

I’ve just returned from a weekend break in York with friends and found this apartment great. In the heart of everything the apartment was so well equipped, even tea/coffee and milk supplied. Beds really comfy. The living room was so spacious, seating for everyone, great facilities and you couldn’t ask for better. Will come back some time in the future

We had a wonderful time in York with this apartment as our base. Conveniently placed to explore the city centre, it was easy to pop back for a rest before continuing well into the evening. The apartment was clean and contained all the home comforts we needed for our stay. It was also secure, and the parking was very welcome (parking in the city is not inexpensive!)

Be aware that you may hear revellers returning from a night out in the early hours; I didn't hear any despite my bedroom facing the street, but both of my companions did. However the disturbance was brief and the location far outweighed this very minor inconvenience. A few years ago I may well have been one such reveller!

We enjoyed our stay here. The living room and bedrooms were very comfortable and spacious. Kitchen and en suite need updating. Kitchen cupboard doors were falling off hinges. Oven/hob is out of the Ark and went bang after cooking eggs! Equipment in the kitchen was sparse and felt like the owners had raided their Nan's kitchen for cutlery/glasses etc. No cafetiere or anything to make coffee with.

Very modern apartment, well situated close to York city centre. Fully equipped kitchen with all the appliances even a washing machine, which made life easier throughout our time.
Parking was convenient and felt very secure.
There was a detailed folder in the property with some great recommendations which was helpful given our first time in the city.
Staff at the company were easy to reach and very friendly.

This property is located in the perfact place just a two minuite walk away from the centre of york. It is surrounded by bars and restaurants on its doorstep also. The place is equipt with everything we needed andmore it was also left very clean for us.

A lovely clean, comfortable and warm apartment within 5 mins walk to the heart of York. The apartment comfortably accommodates 5 people, with generous sized rooms and a well equipped kitchen. There is on site, safe parking for 1 vehicle at the rear of the property, which was a great bonus.
None of the three bedrooms have wardrobes or drawers, with just a few wall mounted hooks to hang your clothes. As a consequence we found ourselves living out of our suitcase for the weekend, which is not great. The bedrooms are a good size, so I don’t understand why adequate storage has not been provided, as it lets down what is otherwise a lovely apartment.
The main issue with the property is the noise on an evening. The property is located on the main route between the city centre and several student halls of residence, and as such, on both nights of our stay, we were constantly disturbed by a barrage of drunken shouting, screaming and foul language between midnight and approximately 4am. We got very little sleep on both nights, which seriously affected the enjoyment of our weekend break. It may be a better experience if staying outside student term time?
In summary, a lovely apartment in a central location, let down by the noise level into the early hours, and for that reason alone, I would not return to this apartment and I could not recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

This appartment has 3 spacious bedrooms with very comfotable beds. The kitchen and living space is fully equipt and also very spacious. The interior is very modern and greatly designed. There is free parking, however this property is only a 5 minute walk into the Centre of York so we did not need to use our car. We would highly reccomend for families or couples staying in this property as it has lots of space and is a very comfortable stay!

This place is a gem of a find! So central and with parking, it’s perfect for everything York has to offer. All the bedrooms are a good size with hanging space and the beds are comfy and nice furnishings. The en-suite shower was powerful & fabulous, a very important thing to have with 3 little girls with us and lots of hair to wash! The lounge area is really big, our girls enjoyed dancing around in it to Strictly come dancing. The kitchen is well appointed, clean and a good size. Location is fabulous on a great street with little bars and lovely restaurants. We loved the location and added bonus of free parking.
Clean and homely with everything we needed . Had an issue with heating and hosts sorted it out straight away very impressive ! Thanks for a great stay .

A lovely spacious property had all the amenities, nice and clean and only few minutes walk to the city centre, bonus of a lovely little patio area, will defiantly return to this property.

We had a lovely time in this apartment, the property was 3 bedrooms, really spacious. 2 Bathrooms, great location with parking. Friendly hosts! Easy to find with clear access instructions. Would recommend!

The location was great, right in the city Centre .We liked that it had parking which was important to us. The apartment is a credit to the owners and was spotlessly clean. We will definitely be booking it again next time we visit York.

There was not anything to dislike about this apartment, amazing location, parking available, really luxury feel to the apartment, excellent value for money. York is our favourite city and we visit often, first time staying at this place and with this company but we have had a 5* experience throughout and intend on coming back here:)

Thank you so much for an amazing stay! The apartment was beautiful inside and located literally a 2 minute walk from the city centre which was ideal! Parking was provided in a safe and secure car park. We was surprised how little noise you could hear from the apartment given it was on such a busy central street.
Really easy check in instructions. Had a really lovely stay and we would love to come back.

We had a great time at this property. It has very comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated. Most of all though the location is superb. It is within easy walking distance of all the amenities and in the street itself the are many excellent restaurants. It has a lovely ambiance.

Absolutely everything we needed here , the location was so good 5 minute walk to the shambles .
On a fantastic street with lots of lovely upmarket bars and restaurants. We looked how close everything was and the free parking space was very handy .
Immaculately clean and great customer service the host ,you was very helpful helping me book bars and restaurants.
We will be booking for the Christmas markets.
Thanks for a throughly enjoyable stay .

Had an amazing weekend away at Malt Shovel Apartment, the property was very spacious and slept 5 of us comfortably! Inside was absolutely lovely, the photos did not do it justice.
The office staff were brilliant, really helpful on all contact. Although on a busy street we was surprised how little noise we actually heard! So convenient with a private parking space and being so close to York centre. Definitely our new go to property when we visit our favourite city!

Very nice apartment, with three bedroom, one double, one with two single beds and one for a single bed. Very comfortable sitting room and kitchen, three bathroom. Beds are comfortable, it was very clean. Perfect location. I would really recommend it.
