Pekes Manor and the 5 surrounding Pekes Houses provide a range of comfortable self-catering accommodation in delightfully rural East Sussex. Guests can book one or more houses - sleeping from 5 people up to 63. We have a heated indoor swimming Pool, Tennis Court, gardens, walks and the sea is 10 miles away.
This needs to be read alongside a review of a stay at the main house on the same weekend.
We booked the Tudor cottage in addition to the Main house as it meant that we could be sure we could have a good night's sleep and still enjoy the company of our 6 children, their partners and our 6 grandchildren. Whilst the main house has its own eccentric charm, the cottage offers one of the most spectacular views of the south Downs. It is possible to lie in bed with a cup of tea and observe rabbits gambolling in the garden, look at the lovely vista, hear shrieks of joy from children playing (not too...more
Lovely grounds, great country retreat. Kids have a lovely time in the pool, dogs were welcome. Close to a very nice pub (6 bells)
Would recommended to all family and friend's
Can't wait to book and stay again
Thanks everyone for a fantastic stay
Lovely building and beautiful views with fabulous access to pool, hot tub , garden and tennis court. The kitchen has most things that you need with two fridge freezers for drink and food and everyone can be fed in the kitchen. Lee Millar's farm 5 minutes away for photography fans and brilliant cycling along the country lanes. My only gripe is that the bed allocation only favours certain configurations of families. This is a lovely old Manor House. Plenty of character and old world beams and some low doorways. Bedrooms are large and spacious with plenty of storage space. The grounds are very well kept by the army of gardeners.
Exclusive use of jacuzzi/hottub and spa. A very large lawn to play games with the children (or do yoga as we did!!).
Manor house needs a little TLC but this is in hand as the owner is putting this in place. The owners were very helpful while they were on site and went out of their way to help.
We have been coming to Pekes Manor since 2009 and we absolutely love it! It has a unique atmosphere, very beautiful and peaceful. Gate cottage is perfect for us as we have dogs and it has a special charm all it's own. It is now being updated which will help enhance this little haven and our dogs love it as much as us!
The wing at Pekes is lovely! Old fashioned cosy furnishing and lots of space. The garden is lush for evening drinks and enjoying the end of the sunshine. We used public transport and cabs and it was easy enough to get to, there's also some nice pubs a walk away. Plus the owners were really helpful and got back to us really quickly with any random queries.
