The Causeway Barn is a well planned and equipped holiday home with many thoughtful touches from the owner (easter eggs!). I'd certainly consider bookign again.
A modern Water Mill conversion. Tastefully renovated into spacious apartments with adequate secure parking. As we where three couples, the three bathrooms, two en suite, were very convenient as was the open plan living area. The two balconies were very useful as they caught both the morning and evening sun. The location of the apartment could not have been better. Situated in a quite hamlet, a short walk from the sea and only a few miles from local attractions such as Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and the Farne Islands. We would certainly use this apartment again if returning that part of No...more
This was our 2nd stay this year and the property does not look any worse for wear after a full year if bookings. Obviously very well managed and cared for. Everything you need!
Fantastic cottage with everything you could imagine needing and more. Just like home from home. Great having our hosts next door who couldn't do enough for us. They gave us all the information we wanted about the area which was new to us so we didn't miss anything. All the little extras that were provided made us feel really welcome. Hope to return in the not too distant future.
A lovely Cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. A good central location for visiting the various beaches and attractions. Craig the owner made us feel very welcome. A very enjoyable holiday.
Perfect place to spend the week. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is stunning and peaceful. Would highly recommend. Very much hoping to return.
Our stay as a family of 4,at the Hemmel was fantastic. Not 1 complaint, everything was catered for and the house was spotless with the quality of interior being really very good. Super location beach is 2 mins in the car and easy to walk to. Seahouses is 5 mins in the car and has everything needed without being too tacky. We would. Not hesitate to recommend this holiday cottage to family and friends we have done just that already. Stay Northumbria were a really good booking company too very professional and knowledgeable. Brilliant all round. Thank you.
Warm and comfortable steading. Beautifully renovated and well laid out. Spotlessly clean. Private and quiet. Close to a number of beaches. We will be back.
Had a lovely week at Willow cottage cosy and comfy a real home from home . Had every thing you could think of to make your stay a perfect holiday . Really great place for exploring the surrounding area x
Friendly people, lovely cottage and beautiful scenery. My american friend loved it and totally enjoyed it,had to leave a day early for job interview which was the only downer.
We had a most marvellous time at Spindlestone Mill celebrating New Year with 23 people and our dogs. It was a perfect venue as we had space for a party and sit down meal in the annex room and everyone also had their own space to be able to relax and do their own thing if need be. Also access to the nearby beach was an added bonus. We would all come again.
The Powder House had everything you need whether staying for a few days or a fortnight. Pat had thought of everything and the kitchen was better equipped than my own at home! We loved the pretty setting with the little square of fishermen's cottages and flowers around the door. The welcome we received made our stay a very happy one.
We have stayed in a variety of holiday cottages in the UK and abroad over the last 30 years. Croft Cottage is undoubtedly one of the best we have stayed in. It is fitted out to a very high standard and is located in a beautiful and quiet part of Northumberland. The standard of cleanliness is second to none. There was a welcome pack waiting for us with homemade cake. The owner, Julie, made every effort to ensure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay to the full. We can thoroughly recommend this property.
Beautiful modern cottage set in farmland. Every imaginable convenience even down to a freshly baked cake ! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Particularly loved seeing the swallows gathering ready to leave.
Lynbank is a superb base for exploring Seahouses and further afield. It is very centrally located in a quiet side street near the main street so accessing the co-op or fetching take aways was easy. The pizzas from Elan were amazing! Lynbank was perfect for our boys (1&3) with stair gates in place, child friendly furnishings and a great enclosed back garden perfect when the weather was a nice as we got. I was very impressed with how well equipped the kitchen is. Just a small thing but it was very handy to have so many spoons as this is often overlooked. I reckon we'll be back.
We were a party of 12 adults and 2 children. This was an ideal venue for our family gathering. The equipment in the kitchen was plentiful and of good quality. There was lots of space for the children to play and the adults to relax. Highly recommended. One minor fault was the lack of wardrobe space in one of the bedrooms. Very well kept property and we will no doubt return.
We loved Portland. The house was clean, comfortable and the decor was lovely. Location was fab with an amazing view. We Would love to stay again. The owners had thought of everything, we had all we could need and they had even provided extras such as body boards and some wet suits which you could use whilst staying. The children loved the house, it was light, airey and had an enclosed garden they could play in. Perfect!
A well provided modern cottage with all the things you would expect to be included in the kitchen, a nice large dining lounge ar, bedroom with on suite and separate bathroom. A very nice conversion situated in a nice part of the countryside, near to Seahouses. A good place to stay to explore the surrounding area both coast and countryside.
Homildon Cottage is a very special place, its in a stunning location with views galore and walks from the door. We were even provided with a telescope for star gazing and who knew all of those stars were up there when you escape from light polluted areas. The cottage has a superb log burner for cozy evenings and a toasty aga in the kitchen which made the dogs happy. Fabulous cottage, we have already booked another week.
Welcoming, beautiful cottage close to the beach. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need.
PERFECT PLACE TO SPEND A LONG WEEKEND OR SHORT BREAK SO COMFORTABLE WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED LOOKING FORWARD TO BOOKING IN THE FUTURE
Our stay at Millers Loft was not really a holiday as we had things to attend to while in Northumberland, but we still managed to see family and friends in the region. They were very impressed by this holiday apartment, as were we. What a lovely setting and what a lovely apartment, despite the flights of stairs. That didn't put us off at all. The owners are also friendly and welcoming, which always helps. Maybe we'll have more time to enjoy this as a true holiday retreat some time in the future, as it certainly seems like a good place to relax and to take in the wonderful Northumbrian coun...more
Having previously stayed in the Portside apartment (opposite Upper Deck) we knew what we were getting when we booked and couldn't be more excited to begin our break. On arrival, we were not disappointed, the apartment was clean, well appointed and felt like coming home again. The provision of Tea, coffee, sugar, small milk & some shortbread biscuits is a simple, but very nice 'welcome' to our arrival after a long drive. The views from this apartment are incredibly spectacular, even when it's raining a storm outside you never tire of the view and always have something to look at. The owne...more
The apartment was spacious, modern and of good quality. I don't think I can fault it's presentation and what it offers guests. Short drive to Bamburgh.
This is our second new year stay at the old cart shed, we are booked for a third visit as the property is exceptionally comfortable and cosy with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The staff at stay Northumbria are professional friendly and extremely helpful with a nothing is a bother attitude. The cottage is in an idea quiet location yet within walking distance of the beach and Seahouses and Bamburgh. Each have plenty options for dining out or popping in for a refreshment after a long walk.
We often visit Northumbria and stay with family, but with growing children, we wanted some more space to ourselves, Bega's Bead had more than enough space for us to spread out with the boys having their own bedrooms/bathrooms. It is beautifully furnished with everything we needed (and more). Very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms - one for each bedroom. Two lovely living rooms with comfy sofas. Lovely big kitchen. Enjoyed the underfloor heating in December! Even our dog was well catered for with a bowl and treats provided. Lovely mince pie treats on arrival for us too! There was a ...more
Had a lovely week in this cottage. Everything you need is provided for a comfortable stay and with the added extras of a bottle of wine and biscuits to greet us. Really spacious for us as a family of 4 and handy for the A1 so we were able to easily get to Edinburgh, Alnwick Castle and other local attractions. Really can't fault this property.
The apartment was very well equipped and wanted for nothing,we enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets plus the great view of the sea and beach. I have one slight correction that could be adopted, that is to have a larger difference in the codes for each property.
We are planning to go back to Dunes Court in the new year. Our stay was so relaxing in a warm and very comfortable flat. The kitchen was fully equipped for our needs and the appliances were excellent.
Very spacious accommodation with large bedrooms and modern bathrooms, power showers. Kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, plenty of pans, baking equipment, even scales and an electric mixer. Easy to cook for a large group. Underfloor heating throughout makes it very warm, lovely to come back to after a long walk. Very clean and well maintained. Views across fields out to the Farne Islands. The only negative comment would be that the beds are very hard, could do with foam toppers, but don't let that put you off, everything else was perfect.
Very smart accommodation. Heating was controllable which is not always the case with holiday cottages. A bit more crockery and cutlery would have been nice, I know that it's only for 3 but it meant that the dishwasher was on more than it needed to be. Also one or two little cleaning items eg kitchen surface spray. These things are picky and only suggestions, overall we enjoyed our holiday (despite the weather)! Only a 5 or 6 minute walk into Seahouses. The house was very comfortable and quiet.
Godetia is in a perfect location for shops and restaurants and is a 10 minute walk on footpaths to the beach. I don't think I have ever been in such a well equipped self catering property..... there was everything we needed and more. The property was extremely clean when we arrived. The garden is perfect for dogs completely enclosed although the wall on one side is a little low for any dogs that like to jump. Lovely to have 2 gates (one at the back off a footpath and one at the front off the drive) into the garden...... really useful when returning with sandy dogs. The outdoor tap is a godsend...more
A great house in a decent position in Seahouses. Half a mile walk to the centre of Seahouses and a great location to explore further afield . House had everything we needed (including large tv and sky sports package), great Conservatory and private garden. Excellent - would highly recommend
We were really impressed with the attention to detail and cleanliness of Henderson House. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we were so busy we never even turned the TV on once. Amble is a really good place to explore with easy access to Northumbria. We hope to return next year.
We really enjoyed our break over new year at topcliffe. The house was spacious and comfortable, with a nice open plan kitchen dining space. The house is well located within walking distance to the beach and restaurant/cafe in Beadnell, as well as a short drive to seahouses. The house was very clean when we arrived, and was well stocked with sustainable products, which was nice.
The apartment was beautiful and a very comfortable size for the 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child). It had all the mod cons (except wifi, which was a welcome break) and a lot of space so we made it feel like home for a week. It is located right in the 'hub' of Beadnell, close to two great pubs and a lively cafe and also a short walk to the coast with many options for exploring without have to venture too far afield. Could not recommend a visit any more and would definitely go back for a third year running.
We had a fantastic stay at vale view. The place was big enough for our family to eat together and also all sit together in the lounge. The bedrooms were great as they were all en suit. There was a problem with the heating when we arrived so we were without heat and hot water for most of Christmas Eve. The owners were very prompt and brought round heaters and sorted someone to fix the problem. Once it was fixed the main rooms in the cottage were lovely and warm, however the bedrooms were still cold. Also, the water temp was cool in the rooms without electric showers. This was not a big deal and...more
Very satisfied with the accommodation lovely rooms with fabulous beds. The boys loved the den and my little granddaughter was so excited by everything, she is only 2 ! Great kitchen and dining room everything you could ever need in the well stocked house. Loved the the raised decking area with BBQ . I slept with the window open listening to the river so relaxing. And to top it all we had wonderful weather. Wifi good in living area but not upstairs but actually it didn't matter nice not to be tethered to the rat race!! Highly recommended Thank you do hope it's available next year as I saw...more
This was our sixth stay at Hideaway Cottage and every time it gets better. We can't imagine a more welcoming and comfortable place to stay. The cottage is very well maintained and has had something added or updated to improve the property each time we return. Always clean and tidy, well appointed, warm and cosy, it's difficult to imagine a more perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Hideaway is definitely our ideal holiday cottage. We'll be back again.
the mill was fabulous and all there was plenty of everything re cutlery crockery etc. We were a large group so had 3 flats - worked well with the only minor criticism being the number of comfy seats in the living room dining area. We had a great time and would definitely use this again.
An outstanding beautiful cottage two seconds from the sea. Very comfortable, the bed and quilt were so snuggly. Gifts for dogs and hire of crate made it so much easier. The buns on arrival were delicious afraid I ate both. So convenient for town really hope to return. Thank you
We had a really enjoyable few days at the cottage. The location was central to the places we wanted to visit and the roads easy to drive,( you do need a sat-nav). It was also easy to find the first day after our long drive up from the south coast. We had a welcome telephone call from the owner to make sure all was well which it was. Very clean cottage very with every thing you could possibly need.
Fantastic week in a great house. Everything we could possibly need in the house! Hot tub great for relaxing in and lots to do in local area.
We stayed in Coble cottage for the week from 13th Aug 2016. We were blessed with fabulous weather. We were 3 families, 2 of which had young children. 3 of the children shared the bunk bedded room, which was fine if a little small and a little bit hot. The 2 bathrooms were fine and the towels provided were lovely and soft. The beds were comfortable and the linen was of good quality. The living area was more than ample for our families, it was comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of DVDs particularly for the children. The kitchen was very very well equipped, however because of the size of ...more
Lovely week in Summerhouse Cottage. The cottage has everything required, very well equipped with good quality appliances and instructions for use. Even including a pint of milk in the fridge on arrival, tea, coffee and biscuits which are lovely thoughtful touches. Good quality bedding and towels. The bungalow is located within easy walking distance of the local pubs and shop and the beach. Anything that could be improved? A little more explanation around working the night storage heating, I'm not familiar with it and occasionally found it too warm but wasn't able to regulate as well as w...more
Upper half Mill Spindlestone was a lovely place to stay. There were ten of us celebrating a 30th birthday and there was lots of room and convenience. The place was exceptionally clean and comfortable and everything you could possibly need was supplied. The setting was beautiful and we appreciated the views, thebirdsong, the red squirrels, the peace. We would definitely consider using it again and would recommend it to others. We have used a few places elsewhere at different times but this was definitely our best experience.
Exceptional accomodation provided by the owner at very short notice. Would strongly recommend it to others.
The cottage was very well equipped and comfortably furnished. It was ideal for the two of us and our terrier Ted. The cottage is very convenient for the amenities that the wonderful village of Alnmouth has to offer. Special thanks to Mrs Isabel Chalmers for meeting and greeting us and to owner Mr Galbraith for popping in to check that all was in order.
A lovely apartment in the heart of Craster. The cafe downstairs serves good coffee, nice food and the scones are gorgeous! It's a great place to stay on the Northumberland coast.
Glebe Court is amazing. So well equipped, even down to cake tins for your picnic! Well situated for the coast and all the wonderful beaches and castles. So comfortable, we couldn't have asked for more! Just a shame we were only there for a week! If you stay here, visit Cragside - a truly amazing place and a whole day out! Bamburgh Castle great too (Alnwick very expensive). Loved it, thank you for the very welcome pack and the flowers.
We were a party of 8 adults, needing 5 rooms, and preferably somewhere on the NE coast, so this house was a great discovery. Mostly we live in the UK, but two of the party arrived from Melbourne, Australia, so we needed somewhere they could feel warm. Arrival was painless (apart from the tail end of Storm Barbara), and the house was indeed warm and welcoming. We much appreciated the touches like the Christmas tree and crackers, as well as mince pies, and foil to wrap a big bird in. Various expeditions were made - to Holy Island, Dunstanburgh and along to the pub at High Newton. Sometime it ...more
Great location wonderful views. I live in London and being in such a quiet location and being able to sit outside with a view of the harbour was fantastic.
I hIghly recommend this comfortable cottage. It's a bit like a tardis inside with plenty of rooms, all tastefully decorated. Comfortable and soft leather sofas, well equipped kitchen and lovely conservatory. The garden is fairly open and dog proof for a small dog not able to jump high. Larger dogs may escape. Lovely K9 welcome pack with treats, towels bowls and matts! Feels like a home from home with the beach and village centre short walks away. Can park two cars.
The Haven was as the name suggests, somewhere to get away from everything, rest and recharge. The cottage was clean and well equipped for both us and our two dogs. The location could not be better with the beach, pub, bistro style cafe, restaurant and interestingly, well stocked local shop all within minutes walk. Beadnell is for us, the perfect location being within easy driving distance of all the interesting sights and places in Northumberland. The Stay Northumbria staff could not have been more helpful and the Christmas decorations were much appreciated. There are two things we can constru...more
Hastings Dairy was an excellent choice for us. The cottage was very clean, well furnished and equiped.. The weather was perfect too and our Labrador was very appreciative of her welcome pack. The location meant a short walk to the centre of Seashouses for the shops which was the only slight drawback. It would also have been useful to have had a washing line in the back yard especially for two week lets.
Clean and tidy modern house with ample space fir 2 families. Great location 5 mins walk to the beach. 3 bathrooms upstairs so great fir privacy n getting ready to go out. We have stayed here 3 years before I do feel the property is looking a little tired in area but it didn't spoil our stay here. In future tv in bedrooms would be great.
An excellent base for visiting all the nearby attractions. It is a very quiet and comfortable location and most enjoyable relaxing in the conservatory in the evenings where we were joined by the bull from the field next door. We have no hesitation in recommending Burn Bank cottage.
We have been coming to these cottages for many years , this is the second time in Longstone found it very comfortable and all the kitchen utensils etc excellent. Bed very comfortable perhaps a blackout blind in bedroom although it was good to see the sun most mornings. Would certainly recommend cottage to friends.great position for walks on beach for the dog.some good eating places out and about.will be returning next year once again.a hidden gem.
Lovely little cottage in a great location - very quiet spot and has parking. Walking distance to dog friendly beaches up and down the coast. Stayed here three times now - always immaculately presented
Lovely cosy cottage. Everything there that we needed . Very clean. Ample parking. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Will definitely be returning.
The area was fantastic. It was lovely to be able to walk to the shops and the beach. The cottage was well equipped and there was everything in it that we wanted. We found the bed extremely uncomfortable. My husband suffered with a very bad back as a result of the bed. It would benefit from a mattress topper or new mattress.lovely spacious cottage.
This is an excellent place to stay both in terms of locality and access to popular tourist places. Seacow is comfortable and spacious and it's position next to the Sand Dunes and Beach is perfect.
A warm welcome from the owner, who kindly showed us around the house on our arrival. Peaceful, idyllic surroundings and just a short drive from the beautiful beaches. The owner's family lived in an adjacent barn and kept us informed about local events and things to see. The couple living in the attached half of our cottage were delightful too. The house is beautifully appointed and had everything we needed for a perfect week.
Ideal cottage for two, compact but everything you need is included. Generous welcome pack. Has its own private garden with numerous seating areas. Quiet area but within 10 minute drive of beautiful beaches and attractions.
Fab house, in a wonderful location. It was lovely to wake up with the sound of the Sea each morning. The house is very spacious, the garden a huge bonus, particularly for anyone with Dogs or Children. We have holidayed in Northumberland many times, there are houses we would not recommend. I am happy to say that is a house I would recommend, and will hopefully stay at again. Thank you Stay Northumbria!
my name is Christina and me and my husband have seven children of various ages and my two friends have two children too and we had amazing time at ancroft mannor we loved everything it was nice that the kids could run free and just be kids without worrying we most Defo want to go back we were so sad to leave please don't change anything leave it how it is we love the old farm house feel I couldn't fault a thing xxxxx thank you letting us have ur house for a week xx Christina Melbourne and Vicky hendry and Kevin and Craig and all the kids
Well equipped, cosy & comfortable cottage in an excellent location within the pretty village of Beadnell. Ideal base for exploring the beautiful coastline & countryside of the area. This is our 3rd time staying in this property & would definitely come back again.
We loved this cosy little cottage, nice to be so close to the sea front in the lively little town of Seahouses
The Wheel Room at Spindlestone was perfect for our week away, we were a group of seven and there was plenty of space. Overall the property was clean but felt that the bathroom mats in a couple of rooms (unusable) and shower door seals needed a little bit more cleaning. Spindlestone is in an excellent position to visit the Northumberland Coast as well as traveling as far as the Kielder Forest and surrounding area. This was our first visit to Northumberland and hope to return soon, we will certainly consider staying at Spindlestone again. Highly recommended.
This was probably our sixth or seventh stay in Northumberland in October and we know the area very well. The location of the house was perfect, the closest to Bamburgh that we have stayed in all our visits. The house was great with bedrooms a good size for our needs as were the kitchen/dining & lounge spaces with a fantastic fireplace. The only negative that we had with the space & room configuration was that one of the bedrooms which was on the other side of the house from the rest had access to what we felt was a small shower room poorly decorated. This was situated off the utility room and ...more
Lovely clean cottage in a fantastic location Comfy beds and warm bedrooms Everything we needed Great pub and restaurant in village with fantastic walks on our doorstep
Our only 'complaint' (not really a complaint!), comment I suppose, is that there was a lovely washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, and video player, but no instructions on how to use any of them. It would have been nice to take home clean laundry, and not to have to hand wash-up every day! The microwave would also have been very useful if we'd known how to operate it! We were obviously wary to use any of these appliances as to damage them due to misuse would have been our responsibility.
A nice cosy cottage in a good location for trips around the Northumberland either by car or on foot. Could perhaps do with a bit of a spring clean, although generally clean and tidy with good facilities (although washing machine wasn't working whilst we were there). Excellent views of fields, golf course and sea, there's always something to watch and the chairs by the windows were well used. Lighting was also a little dark if you wanted to read or anything in the sitting area on an evening, although fine for watching tv etc. Great location for walks along the coast to High/Low Newton and Cra...more
Good for a large group of people, note that the annexe is not accessible from main accommodation (outside security light was not working).Ideal base for exploring Northumbria by car.
We had a lovely stay at the Old School House. It has a great location - the beach and all local amenities were accessed so easily. The house was just what we expected and although 5 can't sit around the kitchen table, there was enough room around the lounge dining table. The children loved their room with the views and teddy bears on the beds. Great to have the benefit of two bathrooms with a family. Easy off road parking and outside sitting area. Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and will be back!
