Here you can unwind in a peaceful village setting and live out the Cotswolds way of life. The Blockley Brook runs along the end of the garden and a private terrace provides a wonderful spot to enjoy a BBQ and evening drinks. Explore much-loved destinations such as Bourton-on-the-Hill with its award-winning pub, Sezincote House and Gardens, Snowshill and Broadway.

Whilst we did not have the best of weather it did not dent our stay in Stepping Stones cottage. Excellent amenities, a very comfortable bed, excellent shower. A lovely cosy cottage. Its position in a quiet enclave just on the edge of Blockley is perfect and it only takes a few minutes to walk into this delightful village. it was ideal for exploring other villages and towns in The Cotswolds. . When the sun shines, to sit out in the garden, hear the birds singing or walking down to the beautiful brook was so relaxing.
We capped off our stay with a delicious fine dining dinner in the village cafe . Definately recommended.
If we come back again to the area, we will look no further than Stepping Stones cottage as the place to stay.

This is a lovely cottage in a great location . It was very clean and warm . Could do with Updating the kitchen, although there was everything you required , the units, worktop and tiles were very tired and it let the rest of the well cared for decor down . Having said that I would definitely stay there again.

Stepping Stones is beautifully situated in Blockley, a pretty village in the Cotswolds.
The owners had thoughtfully left decorations for Christmas, the accommodation was extremely comfortable, and it was an excellent base from which to walk and explore during Christmas.
The house was very well equipped, both in the kitchen and throughout the living accommodation.
One or two things need to be brought to the owner’s attention:
The freezer was badly iced up, and needs defrosting.
The rails and tray in the oven were dirty.
The TV channels were difficult to access, and access to Netflix etc was impossible.
Otherwise - a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

We have just had a wonderful short stay at Stepping Stones. The location is very nice and the place is lovely. It was ideal for us for our mini break. The surrounding area is very nice and the cottage is very handy for many local attractions. We had a mixture of eating in and eating out and it was convenient for this. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well equipped.

The gardens and the stream are lovely and we loved watching pheasants and squirrels running about. We were very impressed and would love to stay there again, Thank You!

Stepping Stones was a comfortable, clean, spacious property and we really enjoyed our stay. We brought our dog with us and it was easy to have her there. We kept her on the lead in the garden as it is not enclosed and close to a stream, which is too tempting for our labrador! The cottage is well-located, a short walk from the centre of the village and close to walking trails. We loved Blockley cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner and the Great Western Arms. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We have enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It’s tastefully decorated. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds.The bathroom has plenty towels and the shower is strong. The views at the back particularly from upstairs bedroom are beautiful. The kitchen has good utensils for cooking. However it needs updating to bring it up to the same standards as the rest of the house.9

Cottage in beautiful quiet private location. Cottage was homely with all you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen, bedrooms were nicely decorated and bedding and towels supplied. Master bedroom was a a great size with lovely large bed.
We had an issue with a cold radiator in bedroom but contacted the owner who arranged for the handyman to come and fix. Jace turned up promptly and fixed the problem.
We did have an issue trying to use the Tv and Netflix and sadly the instructions in the booklet did not work, this didn't ruin our stay but would be good if instructions could be updated
I would definitely recommend Stepping Stones.

Stepping Stones Cottage was lovely: clean, comfortable, and well-equpped for our self-catering break. It's in a secluded location with little traffic, just the sound of the stream, birds, and church clock. The village shop and cafe were a bonus ( we used the ship though we didn't get time to eat in the cafe). The cottage owners were easy to contact and helpful when there was a problem with dishwasher. We could happily have stayed a few more days, as there is plenty to explore within easy reach.

Stepping Stones was an exceptionally clean and very well equipped cottage, boasting everything we needed for our stay. The private parking spaces were a real added bonus!
Great location in the village of Blockley which was very pretty and easy access to the local bus service which took us to Moreton in Marsh and Stratford upon Avon.
Judith, our host, was most helpful and arranged a slightly earlier check in time which really helped us.
My advice……go stay!!

We had a lovely stay in Stepping Stones Cottage.
We especially enjoyed the peace and quiet!
It was clean and very comfortable with all we needed for a fantastic break.
The owners were very quick to resolve a small problem and had done so much in the cottage to help us have a great stay.
The surrounding area is beautiful and we were very lucky to be able to enjoy all the spring flowers in glorious sunshine.
We will hopefully return.

I have stayed at stepping stones previously and made several recommendations with little cost attached which have not been acted on so l see no point in actually commenting further. On this visit l left a note for the house keeper of an item that needs attention. It will be interesting to see if it has been acted on next time we visit as we will as this is a superb cottage in a lovely location.

We have returned here many times as it’s a great cottage in a good location Only minor issue is the creaky stairs as l sometimes wake my wife when I go to bed. I know it’s old but a few screws could fix it.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Stepping Stones, it is in a lovely quiet corner of the Cotswolds in a small village with a fantastic cafe for afternoon teas etc. The property is perfect for 2 of us and a small dog to stay, and is clean, comfy and has all the facilities we needed. You are quite central and within easy distance to some of the larger cotswold towns for shopping, definitely visit again.

We love Stepping Stones and have just enjoyed our second short break there this year. Blockley is a beautiful village and the Cotswolds a fabulous area with lots to do and see.

The cottage is lovely and contains everything to make one’s stay feel like a home-from-home. It’s set in a small private, secluded area with just a few others homes. At the rear of the property is a babbling stream with a stunning church in the background. We would definitely recommend it.

The cottage is everything we hoped for and in a beautiful setting. Everything is included to make the guests’ experience memorable, especially, the superbly comfortable bed. The cottage is furnished and decorated with great taste and care. The surrounding area is magical. We loved it, despite the weather! Even the rain couldn’t make the Cotswolds look unappealing.

This was a lovely break, our intention was to visit as many of the resorts in the Cotswolds as we could. We have not been disappointed. What a lovely area.
The Stepping stones cottage is really clean and comfortable in beautiful surroundings. We couldn't fault it. Just 1 point I would like to make is the cost. At over £700 for 2 people and 2 dogs
Is a little bit steep, but saying that

A very tranquil beautiful spot for a comfortable, spacious cottage in picturesque Blockley. All mod cons provided and some lovely views. We were attending a family wedding near Chipping Camden and wanted an accommodation that’ll be big enough for myself, my wife, two grown up children and our dog. We have used Bolthole retreats previously and we’ve never been disappointed. I’m really glad we chose Stepping Stone cottage as it was perfect for our needs. It’s situated kind of reclusively with a couple of other cottages just before you enter the village of Blockley. I mean this in a positive way, but it didn’t seem to be a holiday accommodation, but a homely retreat with all the creature comforts you might find at your own home at your disposal including fast broadband much to my daughters delight. We’re only sorry we couldn’t stay longer. We would have no hesitation in going back there. If I were to be hyper critical, mobile phone reception is poor. I was told by the village shop that only Vodafone works well in the area. Apart from that, great accommodation, nice village and a fantastic base to explore the Cotswolds

We stayed in this lovely cottage for 4 nights this week and cannot say how impressed we were with the property. It had everything we needed and more. It is set amongst lovely gardens along with about 8 or so other properties in a very tranquil setting. It is the middle cottage of three and has lovely lawns both to the front and rear of the property, and a little communal area with a picnic table next to the brook which runs at the back of the cottages. It has a very well equipped kitchen including a Nespresso coffee machine with pods supplied. It has one large double bedroom with a 6 foot bed which was very comfortable and a smaller bedroom with 2 x single beds. A bathroom with shower and bath with towels and toiletries also supplied. Overall we had a really great stay and the cottage is ideally located for touring the superb area of the Cotswolds. We would happily love to stay here again the next time we visit the area.

Totally fell in love with the village of Blockiey & Stepping Stones was a really good place to stay in terms of location in the village. Very clean & comfortable. Only downside was garden furniture was not comfortable enough to sit out other than for a quick drink/bite to eat & the cottage was fairly lacking in sunshine due to the high trees around.

Stepping Stones provides a perfect location from which to explore the Cotswolds. It is within easy driving distance to nearby villages, Blenheim, and Stratford-upon-Avon. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable with a beautiful patio area and backyard brook.

The position and surrounding gardens with babbling brook and Willow trees was beautiful. Inside the cottage was welcoming and very well equipped.It was extremely relaxing and peaceful.
Blockley was a good centre for exploring the area. A walk in Batsford Arboretum was one of the highlights and Stow on the Wold provided an opportunity for retail therapy in a week of visiting gardens and historic houses galore ———-Hidcote, Kiftsgate,Snowshill, Chasleton Sezincote .All the towns and villages were pretty and The Slaughters definitely not to be missed
Add to this glorious Autumn weather.It was perfection.

We have no complaints about the property itself, being clean, comfortable, well-equipped and with good parking. There are a couple of things that, had we known about them, might have led us to look elsewhere.

1. The photos provided led us to believe that the cottage has an enormous lawn leading down to a pretty brook. In reality that lawn is not part of the property. The garden for the property is tiny and leads to a small ditch protected by nettles. The lawn and pretty brook in the photos can be seen if you stand in the right place and lean a little.

2. The WiFi in the cottage was flaky and disconnected regularly. It gave up entirely for the last two days.

I appreciate that these are not things the owner has complete control over but, as I said, if we'd known about them I think we'd have looked elsewhere. Having said that, we did enjoy our stay and would recommend to anyone who wasn't concerned about the WiFi or lawn and brook.

1. The lawn area is part of the extensive grounds shared by all of the cottages and so can be enjoyed by guests. All of this is carefully and thoroughly explained in the property description. Hopefully, Mr Foster was able to enjoy walking around the grounds and along the brook. The "private" gardens are all smaller but Stepping Stones does have its own patio with small BBQ and seating. 2. The Wi-Fi was, unfortunately, disconnected a day early by BT who were upgrading the fibre connection. We now have Superfast Fibre provision that should be much more stable and faster.

Lovely 2 night stay. Very comfortable cottage, easy to find. The 2 parking spaces were very welcome. The cottage was spotless. The beds were very comfortable both the king size and the singles. There was a welcome bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The kitchen was very well equipped - we brought some food to cook for the first night - everything we could have wanted and more was there. At night it was so quiet and peaceful - only an owl hooting.
WiFi worked well a must with teenagers! Netflix was popular. The coffee maker was a big hit too.
We visited the surrounding villages doing the tourist bits. Lots to do in the area.
We walked to the local pub for dinner one evening too - highly recommended, great service and good beer too!

It was our first visit to Blockley and it took our breath away. The location of the cottage is magical. The cottage itself, although not as old worldly as some of the other buildings in the village, is incredibly comfortable. The beds were perfect, the bed linens wonderful, the furnishings and carpets were all pristine. 2 very convenient parking spaces in front of the cottage. We will definitely return with our dog and children. Nb even easy to use stair gates were provided to keep the dog downstairs.

We had a really lovely weekend at Stepping Stones. It is immaculately clean and really comfortable (especially the beds). We thought the decor pitch- perfect; just the right mix of modernity yet maintaining a cosy cottage feel. The location is perfect too - and soooo quiet. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
