Overall we enjoyed our Christmas stay at Angels Folly, we arrived to a very nicely decorated front room, as well as a pile of unexpected lovely Christmas food gifts which was both generous and a welcomed surprise. As there was no fore warning that this level of food items /crackers were going to be supplied, we went well stocked with our own food purchases, so it did mean we had duplicates which could of been avoided if better communication had been given with the booking which seemed a shame

It was our first ever Christmas stay away from home so it was important to us that it hit the right level of comfort and supply of a fully equipped kitchen to cook over Christmas. I was surprised that a cottage so well furnished with high end interior design finishes, fell short of some basics in the kitchen area.
1. There weren't any glass prep bowls, only one very large bamboo salad bowl was in the draw. (I have photos I can send)
2. No sieve or colander.
3. No light in the oven - it needs replacing. I checked the Bosch model number on line and it does a have a light in the ceiling of
the oven.
4. FYI Only sugar lumps in the canister...no loose sugar was present. This seems strange to me.
5. Empty tin of Nescafe instant coffee was left - could of been previous owners, but cleaner surely should remove it or replace.
6 The underfloor heating instructions were non existent in the guest guide book - just some BOLT HOLE high level generic info. The heating time settings were not set up correctly for a cold winter stay. My husband managed to work it out and adjust in part on the room LED displays, but a bit annoying that not enough information was given.
7 The parking was a bit tricky, luckily we did get parked behind the cottage for arrival and departure.
8 FYI There were a few LED lamps in the cottage that in my view were not fully charged for new guests, as they ran down by third day (4 night stay) No recharge cable were available not sure why. I did message the owner about this. As its quite a dark cottage the mains lamp bulbs that were present would of been better white not a gold colour as level of accent light was very low.
9. Just to mention, there are a few kitchen floor laminate plank joints that are springing / lifting and could cause a trip hazard in the future if not looked at.
I give the above feed back in good faith to assist you and the owner in managing the cottage to the best level it can be. It was without doubt a lovely bolthole for Christmas, but just fell short in a few areas, particularly given that Christmas dinner is probably going to be cooked whist rented over Christmas.

Apologies for my late feed back but we did catch the flu bug that is going around, so this set us back.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your stay. We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed Angels Folly overall and appreciated the festive touches and welcome gifts — it’s lovely to know these helped make your Christmas stay special. I wanted to respond to a few of the points you raised for clarity. The oven light has now been replaced. Regarding the kitchen flooring, there are two wooden floorboards that are very slightly raised; however, these are covered with kitchen mats to prevent any trip hazard. There are glass bowls and a colander/sieve provided in the kitchen cupboards, so it may be that these were simply overlooked during your stay. The heating instructions provided are correct: guests can adjust the temperature using the wall-mounted control panels with the up and down arrows, and the upstairs bedroom radiators can also be adjusted by turning the side valve to a higher temperature if required. With regard to the lighting, there is a rechargeable lamp downstairs due to the absence of a nearby wall socket. These lamps are recharged between stays; however, with same-day departures and arrivals, there isn’t always enough time for a full recharge. A box next to the lamp contains the charging cables, a replaceable bulb, and instructions. The owner is currently exploring the option of installing a wall socket in that area, which would remove the need for a rechargeable lamp in the future. Thank you again for providing your feedback in such a constructive way. It is genuinely appreciated and helps us continue to improve the experience for future guests. We’re very glad you enjoyed your Christmas stay overall and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again.

Angels` Folly has wonderfully modern fittings and furnishings. I feel a mention should be made in its description though that it is not really suitable for older guests. We are fit 70 year olds, but found the stairs very difficult and dangerous. A fixed handrail instead of a rope is definitely needed. Plus a grip handle at the top of stairs. Also great care must be taken walking outside because of the amount of steps.

We can highly recommend Angel’s Folly. It’s a beautifully designed ‘home from home’, with everything that you need to truly enjoy and make the most of your stay.
The house is immaculately clean and peaceful and is the perfect base for exploring all the Cotswolds has to offer.
